2010 book tour to U.S. West Coast
From Sept. 6, 2010 to Sept. 25, 2010 Alan Botsford of Kanto Gakuin University, Japan traveled to the U.S. West Coast on a book tour for his recently released Walt Whitman of Cosmic Folklore, the dialogue, essay & poetry collection published by Sage Hill Press (2010).
The itinerary included Santa Cruz, Chico, Davis, Portland, College Station, and Spokane. Botsford was very fortunate to be interviewed on The Poetry Show, KUSP in Santa Cruz with Susan Freeman, and earlier on Out of Our Minds, KKUP in San Jose with J.P. Dancing Bear. He was invited to Chico, California State University to give a talk and a reading later in town at the 1078 Gallery. Invited to Davis to give a reading at John Natsoulas Gallery, he later flew to College Station, Texas at the invitation of Texas A & M's Department of English to give a talk entitled Of Japan, Editing and Walt Whitman's Cosmic Folklore. Rounding out his three-week tour was a visit to Spokane, Washington where he was invited to give a talk about Poetry Kanto and later give a poetry reading, both at Whitworth University.
